The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in their hundreds have enjoyed Scouting at the 4 Harpenden Scout Group since 1928. We are as strong today as we have ever been. We have a fine HQ and a team of experienced leaders so it’s no surprise that the 4 are amongst the strongest Scout Groups in our District.
Beavers : 6 - 8 years
Cubs: 8 -10.5 years
Scouts: 10 - 14.5 years
Scouting needs adults to make it work. If you would like to make a difference to the lives of young people like Beavers, Cubs and Scouts this is the place you are looking for. We take pride that we are shaping the lives and future of the adults of tomorrow.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
John Quincy Adams
We have Scouting running every day of the week at our HQ sometimes twice in an evening, such is the popularity of our Group. This means we need adult volunteers. We never say no. To volunteer you will need a DBS (old CRB) check to work directly with young people. Currently we are seeking a Cub Scout Leader and a Scout Leader. However, we are open to offers of help wherever you feel best suits you.
PROUD TO DO OUR BEST!
